Athens is an authentication service which allows Single Sign On (SSO) across multiple Athens-enabled information. Athens Authentication is now available to EMBASE.com subscribers. The Athens Authentication system enables authorized users to access any of the resources offered by their institution with a single password.

For customers that have registered with Athens, this will enable you to log on to EMBASE.com or any other online resources your institution subscribes to.

	If you already have a personal EMBASE.com personal ID and then choose to activate your personal Athens account for EMBASE.com, both the original EMBASE.com ID and the EMBASE.com activated Athens ID will remain active and useable in EMBASE.com. However, personalization options (saved searches, email alerts etc) set up under the EMBASE.com username are NOT be transferred to the Athens Username and vice versa.
